- Provide information about public transport to and from your venue in brochures, on website and fliers and in press releases
- List transport choices in order of sustainability (walking - cycling - bus - train - car - ferry - plane)
- Encourage audiences to use public transport through the box office
- Publicise public transport clearly in your venue with signs, information, maps and timetables: transport providers may be able to help.

This can be achieved with a prominent notice on the back of the brochure asking for its return, by signs at distribution points, and by providing a prominent receptacle for audiences to put their brochures in. This will also help you reduce your print runs and associated costs, and further enable more realistic print runs (see Publicity and Marketing).

If you're working with a good waste contractor, they'll be able to offer advice on how to encourage building users to use recycling facilities. Some contractors may require separation at source, which is made much easier by clear communication with the public. One of the easiest things you can do is only ever place general waste bins next to recycling bins, so that users can always see the options.
