The EFGreen website is operated by Festivals Edinburgh who are contactable at PO Box 23816, Edinburgh, EH6 6QD.This Privacy Policy explains our data processing practices with regard to this website.
The Green Venue Initiative is a collaborative project between Edinburgh’s twelve Festivals and a number of venues which will benefit us all. We therefore hope you will consent to us using the information you provide for the purposes of maximising the value of the project.
Information collected
We collect information from you through your registration on the site as a Green Venue Initiative member. Please note that the information given by you will be processed in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998 in order to enable you to participate in the Green Venue Initiative, for the purposes of providing you with information about services we offer, and for auditing usage of the site. Your details will also be entered into Festivals Edinburgh’s database for general administration purposes. We will respect your instructions not to send you additional information if this has been indicated.
To help us to make the site work effectively for you and to improve it, we may keep track of how you use the information which we send to you or which is available on our website. We keep a record of which links are accessed by users on our website to enable us to find out which kinds of information are of most interest to those users. This information is held on an anonymous basis and you will not be personally identifiable from this information. This information is stored on our privately owned and maintained servers.
Data you input into the Green Venue Guide
On this website you are asked to input data about which Green venue Guide tasks you are or plan to undertake. Data you input in to the GVG is used to record totals of which participants are acting upon which tasks in the GVG. This data may be held and used electronically or manually. By supplying this information you consent to it being used and stored for the purposes laid out here:
a) Aggregated information about which venues are acting upon GVG tasks, and how, may be presented to other users of the GVG.
b) The data about your venue will be available to the administrators of the GVG website (employees and freelance consultants of Festivals Edinburgh) in order to track your venue’s progress with the Green Venue Initiative and to enable them to track the general usage of the Guide to make improvements to it. No other users of the GVG will be able to access your data.
c) Festivals Edinburgh and Creative Carbon Scotland reserve the right to use aggregated information about venues’ actions to promote the success of the Green Venue Initiative to the public and to stakeholders
Updating information
You have the right to apply for a copy of the information we hold about you (for which we may make a small charge to cover the cost of administration) and to have any inaccuracies corrected.
